We love rediscovering beautiful objects and stories from the past, especially from the tradition of Polish folk art. For example – did you know that besides the Lowicz and Kurpie papercuttings, the most admired in the world are those from Lublin? This is thanks to Ignacy Dobrzyński, who in the first half of the 20th century, based on simple folk papercutting, created his own original style – sophisticated, openwork multi-axis “flowers” and rhythmic, geometric contrasting rosettes.

The artist cut them with sheep shears, and his works were later admired at exhibitions from Milan to Rome, from Copenhagen to Shanghai. Contemporary papercutters most often draw inspiration from Dobrzyński's compositions. And it is his work – combined with our memory of filigree, sophisticated lace – that was the inspiration for the Folk Papercuttings print designed by graphic designer Paweł Palikot, which is now returning in two color variations - clear blue and warm pink.
