A good dress has to emphasise figure, beauty, and intelligence.

Comfort and quality are most important to us. Trends–we let them pass.

Our “celebrities” are Women. Writers, Scientists, Musicians, Philosophers, Mothers, Sculptresses, Doctors, Athletes. People who wear our designs while doing things we admire.

We form long-distance relationships, not only with people, but also with our planet–that’s why we use European fabrics in our production, some of which obtained Oekotex, Ecolabel, FSC, EU Ecocert, GOTS, GRS or DETOX certificates.

We sew everything in Poland, because it’s worth it.

Why we love it

Once, there used to be a sewing machine in every home and our grandmothers, aunts, and mothers conveyed the knowledge of how to create your own clothes. These days, it’s done by the founders of Risk made in Warsaw - Antonina Samecka and Klara Kowtun. In their first joint book, they share cut-outs and sewing instructions for nine best-selling models of Risk: Lucy in the Sky, Padme, Open Office, Tiszertówka, Prima Ballerina, Skincity, Call Me Princess, Wybiegówki, and Dreamgirl. You’ll find here detailed, step-by-step tips on how to start your journey with a sewing machine - even if it’s your first time using it.

As Antonina and Klara say, “Sztuka szycia” was written with a view to people who have no history of sewing. We invited to participate not only the team of specialists from Risk, but also an actress, photographer, university lecturer, graphic designer - because of them, the book is full of practical tips for beginners. More specifically, it was actress Maria Konarowska, photographer Celestyna Król, university lecturer Kasia Wesołowska, graphic designer Antoni Mroziński, design graduate Samanta Augustyn, yogi Agnieszka Radzio, product manager at Risk Marcin Szabliński, Ola Bogusławska from our design studio, make-up artist and hedonist that you may also know from our boutique Adriana Gregorczyk, graphic designer Sławek Żamojda, filmmaker Roman Statsenka, and Antosia's daughter, Zosia Sufin.

The book “Sztuka szycia” is the result of three years of shared work of the whole team. Ewelina Komór and Ania Tarnowska-Gil, Risk constructors, supervised the correctness of the cut-outs. Our seamstresses - Jadwiga Łukomska, Dorota Zalewska, Beata Zielińska - together with a designer Agnieszka Sroczyńska provided sewing instructions and various tips. The whole project was coordinated by our dependable editor and researcher Kasia Świątoniowska. The book was designed by the graphic artist Agnieszka Zuchora, photos were taken by Celestyna Król, and the drawings (including the cover one) were created by the illustrator and graphic designer Antoni Mroziński.

Now you can sew one of our products by yourself. In the process you'll learn how to use cut-outs, master the basics, and prolong the life of the garments that are already in your wardrobe. What's more, in the book we recommend useful and beautiful sewing gadgets, websites, podcasts, and Instagram profiles. At the end, you can see a small gallery of images that are sewing-related with humorous comments by Klub Komediowy.

We hope that the book will be enjoyable even for those who don't necessarily sew something out of it, but simply read it.
